Entry and health

eTA: Australian passport holders need a Kenya Electronic Travel Authorisation before departure. Apply at least 72 hours ahead. We send itinerary pages you can attach.

Vaccinations: Ask your GP about malaria tablets for parks such as Tsavo and the Masai Mara. Yellow fever rules can apply if you transit certain countries. Check current Australian government travel advice before you book.

Money and power

Currency: We quote safari packages in AUD. On the ground you will use Kenyan shillings or US dollars for tips and extras. Australian cards work at many Nairobi ATMs. Carry some cash as a backup.

Plugs: Kenya uses Type G (UK-style 3-pin) sockets, not Australia’s Type I. Pack a Type G adapter for cameras and phones.

Safari timing

Great Migration: Wildebeest river crossings in the Mara Triangle and around Talek usually run July through October. We help you pick nights that match that movement, not a generic “high season” label.
