Itinerary and Where to Stay

Day 1: Journey to the Masai Mara Reserve

Your safari begins with a 07:30 AM departure from Nairobi, travelling overland towards Kenya's premier wildlife sanctuary. We'll make a memorable stop at the Great Rift Valley Viewpoint for breath-taking photographs of the escarpment. Arriving at your lodge in the heart of the Masai Mara in time for a welcome lunch, you can settle in and absorb the sounds of the bush. In the late afternoon, you will embark on your inaugural game drive across the vast plains, searching for lion prides, elephants, and graceful giraffes as the sun sets, casting a golden glow over the savannah.

Day 2: Full-Day Exploration of the Masai Mara

After an early breakfast, we depart for a full-day exploration of the reserve's immense plains, a day dedicated to exceptional wildlife viewing. The morning light is perfect for photography as your expert guide tracks prides of lion, herds of elephant, and solitary buffalo in their natural habitat. Enjoy a classic safari picnic lunch served under the shade of an acacia tree. The afternoon is dedicated to exploring the banks of the famed Mara River, home to large pods of hippo and formidable Nile crocodiles basking on the shores. We'll return to the lodge at dusk, filled with incredible sightings.

Day 3: Travel to Lake Nakuru National Park

Following a final breakfast in the Mara, we depart around 08:00 AM on a scenic drive to Lake Nakuru National Park, a gem nestled in the Great Rift Valley. Upon arrival, we'll check into our lodge and enjoy a satisfying lunch with views of the park. This afternoon's game drive is dedicated to the park's remarkable biodiversity. We will explore the dedicated rhino sanctuary, home to both black and white rhino, and drive along the lake's edge to witness the spectacle of flamingo and pelican flocks. Keep an eye out for Rothschild's giraffes before returning for dinner.

Day 4: Discover Lake Naivasha & Crescent Island

After breakfast, a short drive brings us to the freshwaters of Lake Naivasha. We'll immediately embark on a guided boat safari across the lake's shimmering surface, a fantastic opportunity to spot the resident hippo pods and watch majestic African fish eagles as they hunt. Our boat docks at Crescent Island Game Sanctuary, where a unique adventure awaits. You will enjoy a guided walking safari, strolling peacefully amongst herds of giraffe, zebra, and waterbuck. This intimate wildlife experience is truly unforgettable. Afterwards, we will proceed to our lakeside lodge for check-in, lunch, and an evening at leisure.

Day 5: Explore Hell's Gate & Return to Nairobi

After a final safari breakfast, we drive to the adjacent Hell's Gate National Park, renowned for its spectacular scenery. Here, you have the unique opportunity to enjoy a guided cycling safari or a nature walk through its dramatic gorges and past towering cliffs. Marvel at the geothermal steam vents rising from the earth's crust as you look for zebra and gazelle. This active morning is followed by a final lunch at the lodge. We then commence our return journey to Nairobi, arriving in the late afternoon for your drop-off at your hotel or the international airport.
