This communal hub houses the dining area, a small bar, and a lounge with simple but comfortable seating. This space is the only location in the camp with WiFi connectivity.

The operational hum of the generator, which provides all power to the camp, is audible from this area during its scheduled running times in the early morning and evening.

Accommodation at Manjaro Tented Camp consists of classic canvas safari tents, offering an authentic and traditional bush experience. The 12 tents are erected on slightly raised concrete plinths to provide a level footing and separation from the ground. The canvas walls offer visual privacy but do not provide significant sound insulation from either neighbouring tents or the sounds of the surrounding bush at night. Each tent is secured with heavy-duty zippered flaps at the entrance and for the mesh-screened windows.

A small, covered verandah at the front of each tent features two safari chairs, providing a private space for observation and relaxation between game drives.

A generator supplies power to the camp on a timed schedule, typically from 05:30 to 07:30 and from 18:30 to 22:30. The schedule coincides with guests waking for morning activities and returning from evening game drives.

Charging electronic devices like cameras and phones is therefore not possible in the tents overnight once the generator is off. Guests must plan to charge all necessary equipment during these designated power hours.

Unfenced Camp Safety Protocols

Guest movement after dark is strictly managed for safety due to the unfenced nature of the camp. Walking unaccompanied between your tent and the main mess area is not permitted after nightfall.

Maasai askaris (guards) are on duty throughout the evening and are required to escort all guests along the pathways. A personal torch is an essential item for navigating the grounds safely with an escort.
