Guests enter through the Sekenani Gate, from which the lodge is a short drive over unsealed tracks. The key benefit is the significant reduction in transit times, allowing game drives to begin almost immediately. The lodge provides excellent access to the wildlife-rich central plains of the Mara.

Visitors planning to witness the Great Migration river crossings should note that the main viewing points on the Mara River are a considerable distance away, requiring a full-day excursion during the peak season from July to October.

Tented Accommodation at Sentrim Mara Lodge

The lodge features over 50 permanent tented suites designed to blend comfort with an authentic bush experience. These tents are arranged in a wide crescent to afford each unit a degree of privacy and an uninterrupted view of the surrounding grounds.

Each tent is built upon a raised concrete plinth with a solid wooden floor, providing stability and elevation above the terrain. The design combines heavy-duty canvas walls with a solid, permanent rear section that contains the en-suite bathroom.

This is also the only location with a reliable Wi-Fi signal. The entire front of the main building opens onto a large timber deck with expansive views, often used for outdoor dining in good weather.

Generator Power Schedule and Wi-Fi Access

Sentrim Mara Lodge runs on generator power, which operates on a fixed schedule. Electricity is typically available in the early morning, from approximately 05:30 to 08:00, and again in the evening from 18:00 to 22:30.

This timing is designed to accommodate guest needs for charging cameras, phones, and other devices before and after game drives. Each tent contains charging points. Wi-Fi service is restricted to the main lounge and reception building and is not available in the guest tents.

Wildlife Safety in an Unfenced Camp Environment

Sentrim Mara Lodge is an unfenced property, which allows wildlife to move freely through the grounds and contributes to its authentic character. Strict safety protocols are therefore essential. Guests are not permitted to walk between their tents and the main lodge after dark without an escort.

A staff member or Maasai askari (guard) is always available to accompany guests at night. This safety procedure is standard practice for unfenced camps in the Masai Mara and is managed efficiently by the lodge team.
